Certification

Nissan offers quality and sporty vehicles at an affordable price. They are also one of the first Asian car brands to offer a certified collision repair program to independent shops, which shows its commitment to its customers by offering a repair path after a collision. Charlie’s Auto Body was very excited to add Nissan as one of its first certification programs.

To be able to participate in the Nissan Certified Collision Repair Network we had a 3rd party, contracted by Nissan, inspect our facility to insure we met all training and equipment standards. This inspection is also refreshed once a year to ensure our shop stays up to date as requirements change.

Nissan’s program requires shops to utilize spot welders, 3D frame measuring equipment, Nissan’s own software for scanning vehicles, along with a long list of requirements that a facility needs to meet. All of these items help make for a safer, higher quality repair by better replicating factory build techniques. Many of their requirements help identify hidden damages to their vehicles structure and electronics.

Recently, Nissan took it a step further by requiring all shops to attend a two-day training course in Nevada. The training course better explained proper repair methods and how to track down the information needed to properly repair their vehicles. Nissan also requires multiple employees to take thorough training on their “Safety Shield” advanced safety systems which includes blind spot monitoring, automatic collision braking, and lane departure monitoring. They went into extreme depth on how a collision and repairs can affect these systems and when these systems may require calibration to function properly.
